I was happy to participate in an event to raise awareness of visual impairments at an elementary school in Mississippi. I wasn't able to get permission to post pictures of the children, so these pictures are of the activities we set up for them. They had a great time and I really enjoyed it, too. It was even more fun because my son, Justin, got to go with me.
This was a fun game, making braille letters out of the fuzzy balls and egg cartons.

These are Perkins Braillers, the middle one is mine. The children had fun making braille letters.
This was a fun game. We divided them into teams, and each team stood on the mats below to make the braille word displayed on the board above.
We really enjoyed this event and would love to do another one.
