I am a member of the Ocean Springs Lions Club.
I have really enjoyed being in the club, and I serve as the club secretary. The Lions Club is a wonderful organization, and one of their primary goals is to help people with visual impairments. On Thursdays, I'm going to post about our local Lions Club, as well as other Lions Clubs all over the world.
Our speaker last week is starting a Mississippi Naturalist program.
Dr. Eric Sparks came to our club meeting to tell us about an exciting new program. Mississippi State University extension program is starting a Master Naturalist Program. It's mission, from their website, is "To develop an organization of knowledgable volunteers to help promote conservation and management of Mississippi's natural resources, through education, outreach, and service within their communities".
Training starts September 2, so look at the website and sign up if you are interested.
I'm the owner of Family First Braille, the author of this blog, and the editor of Family First Braille Magazine.
